Take fog warnings seriously

Fog is a frequent occurrence in fall and winter. And drivers can't always be given sufficient warning by radio or modern telemetry systems. Impaired visibility due to heavy rainfall or fog is the cause of serious road accidents every year.

So all drivers have to react at the first signs of trouble. Oncoming vehicles with their low beam lit in daylight are an indication that care is needed. In Germany, when visibility drops below 50 meters (160 ft) the rear foglamp may be switched on. A speed limit of 50 km/h (30 mph) applies. At the same time the distance between you and the car in front must be doubled.

In such situations, auxiliary foglamps can play an important part. Although they are not mandatory equipment on passenger cars, they are certainly useful accessories. If your visibility is obstructed by fog or rain, just switch on your auxiliary foglamps and they will help you keep a clear view ahead.
