ABS, TCS and ESP are considered active driving safety systems; they stabilize the vehicle in critical situations. ABS prevents the wheels from locking up, even during heavy braking. The driver can still retain control of the vehicle as it remains steerable. TCS provides optimum transfer of the drive force to the wheels, thus providing stability and steering response when moving off or accelerating. ESP “steers” the vehicle by using targeted braking on every individual wheel to move the vehicle in the desired direction and increases the tracking stability in all driving situations.
